I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this excellent read carefully crafted by very seasoned and well read traveller Nicos Hadjicostis. It’s a book I feel that I will read again and again. In it he not only shares short stories from his endless writing from his own continuous travels but he also lays out a clear plan for making the most of your time travelling and helps you to find a solid basis for trip planning.
From Amazon: “I came across this book when I started searching for a book on the subject of world travel. I was immediately struck by the positive reviews on Amazon and decided to buy the book. I literally devoured it in a few days. “Destination Earth” is one the best books I have read in years! Nicos is a tour de force, beautifully blending together world travel and philosophical insights. It is clear that his 6.5 years of travelling were well spent, equipping the author with a unique perspective of the world. His concept of five axes for planning an around-the-world journey is a must for any serious long-term traveller as it harmoniously blends with the idea of exploring all the elements of a country. Nicos’s wealth of experiences and endless creativity have led to a truly unique philosophy of travel, which, as far as I know, is the first of its kind. It provides a modus cogitandi and a modus operandi! But this is not all – you may also catch the travel bug after reading this book. Since childhood, I have always read National Geographic magazines that planted the seed for my own curiosity about the world. “Destination Earth” just augments this curiosity and the desire to experience more of the world’s cultures and places. Nicos’s citing of the Chinese proverb “It is better to travel 10,000 miles than read 10,000 books” is absolutely spot on.
I was completely captivated by this book and have subsequently bought copies to give as presents to friends. All positive reviews you read here on Amazon are true. I would dare say that the book surpasses all the positive reviews, in that it surprises with its wealth of material and all-encompassing scope of its endeavor. I eagerly await his next book“
